MISSION/MINISTRY NAME: Bethesda Health Clinic (FUMC)
LOCATION: 409 W. Ferguson, Tyler, TX 75702
MAILING ADDRESS: NA
OBJECTIVE: Bethesda Health Clinic is a Christ-centered ministry with a bold mission: to provide healthcare to hardworking low income adults who are uninsured or underinsured. We envision our clinic as embodying Christ in action–bringing healing and hope to the people we serve.
Before Bethesda, those in need had to go to a local hospital’s emergency room for medical care. Our state-of-the-art facility eases the burden on local ERs while serving a neglected segment of our population in a professional and dignified environment.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES: Various volunteer opportunities are available, including Admissions Screener, Front Desk, Interpreter, Data Entry, Receptionist, Pharmacy Tech, etc. Please check the Volunteer Portal web page for further information and to complete a volunteer application forms, or call: Donna Wemp, 903.596.8353, Extension 109.

MISSION/MINISTRY NAME: Gideon’s International
LOCATION: 1408 Glenrose Street, Tyler, TX 75701
MAILING ADDRESS: 1408 Glenrose Street, Tyler, TX 75701
OBJECTIVE: People are often led to faith in Christ by the profound truths discovered in His Word. By reading and studying the Bible, these individuals grow in their walk and, eventually, share their testimony with others. For this reason, we focus on distributing complete Bibles, New Testaments, or portions thereof. We print in over 95 languages and take copies of God’s Word to the world by either personally handing them to individuals or by placing them in select public locations. We believe distributing copies of God’s Word plants powerful seeds God can use according to His own timing (I Corinthians 3:6), allows many to read the truth for themselves (John 8:32), provides a lasting witness (Hebrews 4:12), and makes it easier for those we reach to boldly spread the Good News (II Timothy 2:2). Members of The Gideon’s International personally witness and distribute God’s Word to police, fire, and medical personnel; prisoners; military personnel; students in the fifth grade and above; and to those with whom they interact on a daily basis. Scriptures are also placed by Gideons and Auxiliary in key locations, including hotels, motels, hospitals, convalescent homes, medical offices, domestic violence shelters, prisons, and jails.

Meals on Wheels Ministry, Inc. serves a daily meal to about 3,000 frail, home-bound senior citizens and disabled persons for every weekday in East Texas. Some of our volunteers are here every day, whereas others come once a week or even once a month. Most routes include between 10-12 stops and are designed to take about an hour. Just stop by Meals on Wheels, pick up your meals, and you are on your way to a truly life-changing experience! We also need help from time to time with basic office duties such as filing, data entry, paperwork, and other tasks that make a huge difference and offer eager volunteers an opportunity that does not require driving.
