Senior Pastor: Paul Garrison
What do you do at Hideaway Church? I lead the staff, preach on Sundays, some counseling and mentoring, and work with the leadership on vision and strategic planning.
How long have you been on staff here? Since January 2013
Where I grew up: I was a military brat and grew up all over the world. I call San Antonio and Dallas home.
What schools did you attend: I attended schools all over America and even one in Germany. I actually attended eleven different High Schools. I graduated from University of Texas at Arlington, and Dallas Theological Seminary, studied theology at Friederich Wilhelm Universitat in Bonn, Germany, and am currently finishing up a doctorate at Denver Seminary.
Books I love: Obviously, I love the Bible and the more I study it, the more I discover. I also like classic novels, spy and mystery novels, and historical fiction and non-fiction.
In my ITunes playlists: Movie soundtracks. Anything without words. I write most of my messages with music playing in the background.
Favorite Movie: I should say something like Braveheart or Saving Private Ryan so that I appear all manly, but it’s actually The Sound of Music. Please don’t judge me!
Family information: I’m married to my precious friend, Jenny, and we have three beautiful and fun-loving daughters, Katie, Lauren and Megan.
On living in Hideaway: Hideaway is filled with loving people and the community is beautiful!
What do you enjoy most to recharge? Read, oil paint and fly fish.
Life Verse: Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”
